Telecommunications law is one of Grynhoff Woźny Maliński's main fields of specialisation. Our team of experts in this field have extensive knowledge and experience gained both while working for our firm and in their previous posts in national bodies regulating the telecommunications market.

We have broad experience in auditing telecommunications undertakings with regard to compliance with legal regulations and agreements regulating the Polish telecommunications market and co-operation among operators. Our lawyers submit applications to appropriate authorities for licences needed to conduct telecommunications activities (including numbering ranges and frequency range use). They represent clients in negotiating interconnection agreements and in inter-operator disputes before the Electronic Communications Office.

Our firm took part in numerous projects that helped to develop competition on the Polish telecommunications market. We were retained by some of the largest independent operators combating the monopolist position that Telekomunikacja Polska SA has been holding in the telecommunications sector for years. Our lawyers represented the most active Polish independent operators, including Netia, Tele2 Polska and GTS Energis, in negotiations and disputes with TP SA.

Our lawyers have been providing telecommunications law services to public authorities as well. In 2003 they advised the Ministry of Infrastructure on amending the Telecommunications Law.

Our lawyers have extensive experience in advising on contract tenders in the telecommunications sector. In 2005 our firm participated in preparing the winning bids in tenders for UMTS frequencies and the 3600-3800 MHz (WiMAX) band.
